Swipe File · Subject Lines
Not sixty-seven random subject lines. These are the sixty-seven that earned the highest open rates I have ever recorded.
I have written copy for ten years, for my own list and for my clients’. Most subject lines are forgettable. These are not. Every one below has been sent, measured, and rewritten until it earned its open, and together they produced the highest open rates I have ever recorded.
They all work the same way. Each opens a small loop: a question, a confession, a withheld detail. A loop, once opened, asks to be closed, and that tension is what earns the click. Borrow the shape, not the words. Drop in something specific and true to you, then make sure the email itself pays off what the subject line promised. A line that intrigues and then disappoints costs you the next open, and the one after that.
